Tonica are Pirastro’s entry into the quality student level violin strings market. These strings aim to improve most student instruments and are compliant and confidence inspiring. With this latest version of the Tonica, Pirastro have sought to reduce ‘string hiss’, increase projection and power, increase ease of playing over the whole string and improve the control of pianissimo playing. This has been achieved without losing the charactistic warmth of the original. These strings are great value and are available in small sizes with a choice of loop or ball end E strings, and a choice of windings for the E and D.

E – silvery steel or aluminium wound, A – aluminium over synthetic core, D – aluminium (4/4 only) or silver over synthetic core and G silver over synthetic core.

Standard set is Silver Steel E, Aluminium wound A; with D and G both Silver wound. Other options are available- please get in touch with your requirements
